Max Jones

Max Jones, 69, died at 3:10 p.m. Jan. 29, 1983 in University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born March 14, 1913, in Davis County to Clarence and Grace Robbins Jones. He was a farmer and retired custodian at Davis Co. Community Schools all his life. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Troy and served as noble grand of Troy Rebekah Lodge No. 510 in 1982. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 27 in Troy. He married Margaret Trader Oct. 7, 1932, in Carthage, Ill.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Joe of Milton; a daughter, Ellen Parker of Yolo, Calif.; brothers Hunter of Troy and Rex of Bloomfield; a sister, Doris Lawson of Monterey; and six grandchildren and one great grandson.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at his church, the Revs. Marilyn Butler and Carl Wilson officiating. Burial was at Troy Cemetery at Troy.

A memorial has been established to his church.
