Loie Hanshaw

Loie Webster Hanshaw, daughter of John M. and Susan Ritz Webster, was born August 24, 1894 at Douds-Leando and departed this life early Tuesday, Jan. 25, 1983 at St. Francis Care Center, Burlington, at the age of 88.

In 1915 she married Wilbur O. Hanshaw of Selma. They farmed in the Douds-Keosauqua area until moving to Keosauqua in 1944. In 1968 they moved to Burlington.

Mr. Hanshaw died in 1978.

Remaining to cherish her memory are four daughters, Pauline Roush of Boulder, Colorado, Marjorie Downey of Rockville, Maryland, Ruth Kerr of York, Pennsylvania, and Madelyn Wilson of Little Rock, Arkansas. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a niece, Hildred Siemon of Colorado Springs, Colorado, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 29, 1983 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Interment will be in Leando Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 1983.
