WAYNE A. DRUMMOND

Wayne A. Drummond, 79, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away of a heart attack on July 3 at 1:40 a.m. in the Fort Madison Community Hospital. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home at Farmington. Officiating was a grandson, Rev. Paul Patterson of Rich Hill, Missouri. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery at Azen, Missouri.

The family met with friends on Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Drummond was born February 12, 1903 in Scotland County, Missouri, the son of Philander Seaton and Ina Mae Tackaberry Drummond. He married Florence Courtney in 1927 at Memphis, Missouri. She preceded him in death in September of 1979. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, two brothers, a sister, a grandson and a great-granddaughter. He was a resident of Farmington for 40 years and the past seven months, a resident of Fort Madison, living with his son, Jerry.

He was formerly employed at the I.O.O.F., The Farmington Lumber Co. and Ramey Chevrolet. He retired from the Standard Station in Farmington in 1971.

Survivors include three sons, Lowell of Centerville, Bud of Farmington, and Jerry of Fort Madison; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Naomi) McVeigh of Fort Madison and Mrs. Dale (Onelda) Stansbury of Richmond, Missouri; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
