LOLA E. MARTIN

Lola Elizabeth Martin, daughter of William and Minnie Luke McIntosh, was born September 3, 1918, in Keosauqua and departed this life early Thursday, June 24, 1982, in the Ottumwa Hospital at the age of 63.

Her life was spent in the Keosauqua community. She was a Methodist, a member of the Van Buren County Farm Bureau, Beer-Barker Unit American Legion Auxiliary, served on the board of the Keosauqua Senior Citizens Center, and was secretary-treasurer of the Pittsburg Cemetery Association.

Surviving are her husband, Russell; four daughters, Sherry Huss, Osceola, Sally Cook, Portland, Oregon, Fran Donahoe, Des Moines, and Judy Smith; a son, Hugh Gilbert, Indianola; a step-daughter, Georgia Campfield, Blue Spring, Missouri. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother, Dr. J.A. McIntosh, Keosauqua, and a sister, Margaret Gray, Keosauqua, other relatives and friends.

Lola was preceded in death by five brothers, Dr. Francis, Robley, Horrell, and Leonard McIntosh, and an infant brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, 1982, at 1 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Rev. Louise Knupp officiating. Interment was in the Pittsburg Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Keosauqua Senior Citizens Center.
