THOMAS E. BARTON

Thomas Earl Barton, 87, died Friday, December 10, 1982, at his home in Hillsboro.

He was born October 21, 1895, at Lockridge, to Samuel and Ella Lee Barton. He married Leah McDowell, March 2, 1921 at Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Barton, a retired farmer, was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Suriving: his wife; two sons, Gene, Hillsboro and Donald, Wever; a daughter, Marilyn Hahn, Sigourney; a brother, Rev. Dale; two sisters, Mary McElwee, Mt. Pleasant and Susie McWilliams, Knoxville, Illinois; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 12, 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Buchanan and the Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial was in Hillsboro Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.
