MERLE LEE EWING

Former Van Buren County resident Merle Lee "Bud" Ewing, 55, of Centerville died November 27, 1982, in St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after a two month illness.

He was born April 3, 1927 at Kilbourne to Clarence and Mildred Rolison Ewing. He attended Nazarene Church at Centerville. He was a self-employed roofing contractor. He married Marilyn Makepeace at Birmingham in 1948.

Survivors: his wife; his mother of Pittsburg; sons Daniel and David at home; daughter Rebecca Jennings of Douds; three grandchildren; sisters Marjorie Orr of Keosauqua and Hazel Jones of Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Duley Funeral Home in Centerville with the Revs. Brandt Freeburg and Norris Gibson officiating. Burial was in Dale Cemetery north of Centerville.

A memorial has been established to the cancer fund.
