MARJORIE R. PARSONS

Marjorie R. Parsons, daughter of Fred and Daisy Kerr Rigsby, was born December 21, 1908 in Keosauqua and departed this life Saturday, September 4, 1982 at home at Keosauqua, at the age of 73.

She married E. Gale Parsons at Crown Point, Indiana.

He remains to cherish her memory, with their son Fred and his wife Sheila of Keosauqua and five grandchildren, Bradley, Julia, Stephen, Johanna, and Joshua, other relatives and friends.

Marge was a long-time employee of Farmers State Bank in Keosauqua, retiring in 1973, but continuing to work part time until her health failed in 1980.

to countless Van Buren High School athletes, she will be remembered as one of their most loyal boosters as she rarely missed an athletic even and always had a word of encouragement whether the team won or lost. Her enthusiasm was contagious to all the fans seated near her and her espousal of good sportsmanship will live on in the memory of her family and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 7, at 10 a.m. in the Keosauqua United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Knupp officiating. Interment was in Center Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for a scholarship fund for a Van Buren High School graduate.
