EDWARD J. DAHMS

Funeral services for Edward J. Dahms, 91, of Donnellson, who died Wednesday, September 1, 1982, at his home, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 4, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ with the Rev. Donald Stoll officiating. Burial was in ghe Evangelical Cemetery, Donnellson. Hofbauer Funeral Home, Donnellson, was in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to the St. Paul United Church of Christ and contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Mr. Dahms was born July 4, 1891, at Shelton, Nebraska. He had been a Donnellson resident for more than 70 years and was formerly owner and operator of Dahms Chevrolet and a Case Implement dealer. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, a 50-year member of George Washington Masonic Lodge of Donnellson, the Lions Club, War Dads, American Legion, Brotherhood of the Church/Davenport Consistory. He had also served on the Donnellson school board. He was an Army veteran of World War I.

On January 14, 1920, at Donnellson, he married Martha Schott, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Vernell) St. Clair of Fort Madison; a sister, Mrs. Casper (Elda) Fett of Donnellson; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, a brother, a sister and a grandchild. His parents were Ferdinand and Anna Steinke Dahms.
