JAMES W. STILWELL

James W. Stilwell, age 89, of Stockport, passed away October 3, 1982 at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born December 20, 1892, in Van Buren County, the son of Milton and Mary Warner Stitwell(Stilwell). He married Vera Miller on December 8, 1920 at Ottumwa. She preceded him in death July 12, 1974.

Surviving are two sisters, Mary Baucom of Clinton, Maryland and Frances Riley of Weed, California. A brother preceded him in death also.

Mr. Stilwell farmed in the Harrisburg community and upon moving to Stockport, was a meat cutter for the Stockport Locker for a number of years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 6, 1982, at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Interment was in Vale Cemetery north of Bonaparte.

Memorials to the Stockport Library may be left at the funeral home.
