OLA E. RIDER

Ola E. Rider was born on March 11, 1889 in Clark County, Missouri to Davie S. and Nora Brock Rider. He departed this life on May 29, 1982, at the Fort Madison Community Hospital. He married Elizabeth Burke on August 18, 1920. She preceded him in death. He married Laura A. Lang Roth, October 18, 1930 and she preceded him in death.

He was a retired farmer, a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Farmington, and a former long-time president of the Farmington Cooperative Creamery. He held a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University.

Surviving: four sons, Edward, Donnellson, Robert, West Burlington, Tom, Farmington, and Paul, Hilliard, Ohio; one daughter, Cecilia Astry, Demming, New Mexico; one stepdaughter, Gladys Hall, Fort Dodge; one stepson, Gerald Roth, Palmyra, Missouri; two sisters, Jean Eicher, Des Moines, Goldie Therme, West Burlington; 27 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one son, J.F. Rider, and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held on June 1st, at St. Boniface Church with Father Ron Young officiating, with interment in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.
