LELIA EVELYN SHOEMAKER

Lelia Evelyn Shoemaker, 74, of Farmington, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was born November 16, 1907, at Mt. Hamill, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Becker and Mamie Leona Glasgow. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Farmington; the Farmington Cemetery Association and the Homemakers Club of Farmington.

On June 26, 1927, she married Willard Shoemaker in Lee County, Iowa. She spent most of her life in Farmington.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Rider, Farmington, and Mrs. Terry (Linda) Perrenoud, Donnellson; five sons, Marvin, Jackson, Mississippi, Leroy, Rochelle, Illinois, Ronald, David and Paul, all of Phoenix, Arizona, and one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Mae) Riley of Farmington; 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.

Funeral services were held at the Farmington Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, June 26, with Rev. David Hoffpauir officiating. Interment was in the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials have been established to the Church of the Nazarene and to the Farmington Fire Department EMT Unit.
