MYRTLE MAE EDWARDS

Myrtle Mae Matthews Edwards was born May 16, 1896 in Van Buren County and departed this life at her home in Bonaparte at the age of 86. Friends found her in bed the afternoon of Tuesday, June 8, 1982. Life had slipped away while she slept.

She was married to Glenn W. Edwards, who preceded her in death. A daughter, Mae Ida Edwards, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Velda Schmitz and her husband Karl of Kirkville, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Edwards was an active member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church, and will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 17, 1982, at 2 p.m. in the Bonaparte Baptist Church, with Pastor Robert Dodds officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment was in Thompson Cemetery, southwest of Bonaparte. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.
