BLANCHE J. MEADE

Blanche J. Meade, daughter of Charles and Mary Hull Roberts, was born October 8, 1896 in Van Buren County and departed this life Thursday, April 22, 1982, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 85.

On December 22, 1915, she married John A. Meade, who died in 1950. A son, Charles also preceded in 1950.

Survivors include a son, Carl and his wife Mary Lou of Postville, Iowa; two daughters, Betty Sears and her husband John of Cantril, and Elizabeth Sedore and her husband Doyle of Luray, Missouri. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and a sister, Vergil Smith of Cantril.

Mrs. Meade was a member of the Cantril Christian Church and had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 25, 1982, at 2 p.m. at the Cantril Christian Church, with Rev. Gerald Caughron, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril. Arrangements were made by Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
