EDITH DOROTHY

Edith H. Dorothy, 70, of 1108 South 4th Street, Fairfield, passed away at 4:20 a.m. May 3, 1982 in University Hospitals, Iowa City.

She was born October 24, 1911 in Van Buren County to Johnnie and Ethel (Watson) Standley. She married Floyd Dorothy on March 22, 1930 in Ottumwa. She had lived most of her life in the Stockport community, except for the last eight years in Fairfield. She was a member of Big Cedar Christian Church near Stockport.

Survivors: her husband, daughter, Vivian Nelson of Normal, Illinois, son, Donnie Dorothy of Fairfield, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Loretha Peck of Keosauqua also survives. Her parents and one brother, Alvah preceded her in death.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home. The Rev. D.O. VanDyne officiating. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport. A memorial has been established for the Heart Fund or the Kidney Foundation.
