DANIEL C. GREENFIELD

Daniel Cheney Greenfield, son of Guy L. and Juniata Cheney Greenfield, was born June 22, 1922 in Douds and departed this life Wednesday, May 12, 1982 in Cotton's Nursing Home, Lawton, Ok. at the age of 70.

He grew up in Douds, where he was in the garage and service station business the major part of his adult life. He later operated a service station in Fairfield, and was employed at Danielson Motor Co. in Fairfield.

On Jan. 1, 1950, he married Maxine Cook in Milton. They lived in Douds and Fairfield, and the past several years in Oklahoma. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel L. of Lawton, Ok., two daughters, Donna Shirkey of Keota and Goria Braman of San Francisco, Ca. three grandchildren, Cory and Abby Greenfield, and Dan Shirkey. A brother, Truman, gave his life for his country in World War II.

Daniel was a member of Zion Bible Church. The family attended the United Pentecostal Church in Lawton.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and was discharge as a Warrant Officer. He was a member of John Hyson Post NO. 494 American Legion at Douds.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 17, 1982 at 10:30 a.m. in the Zion Bible Church near Douds, with Pastor Kenneth Carr and Pastor Walter Shuka officiating. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites in charge of John Hyson Reneker Post, American Legion. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
