FLOYD W. LAUGHLIN

Floyd William Laughlin, son of Daniel T. and Nettie Cade Laughlin, was born February 8, 1908 near Douds and departed this life Thursday, April 15, 1982, at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Marie Laughlin in Douds, with whom he made his home.

Floyd lived his entire life in the Douds community. He farmed until becoming blind at the age of 25. Even after his sight became impaired he assisted with chores on his parents' farm. After their deaths he went to live with his brother, John and family and remained in the home after John's death.

Survivors include a brother, Ernest of Birmngham, two sisters, Edna Leyden of Birmingham and Leona Van Der Wall of Ridgeway Park, Illinois.

Brothers David and John sisters Ella Mae Findlay and Esther Ross preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 19, 1982 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with Dr. Chris Daniel officiating. Interment was in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.
