RUSSELL E. DAVIS

Retired Staff Sgt. Russell Edward Davis, 2720 Glenn Hills Road, Augusta, California died Saturday, February 27, 1982 in a Richmond County hospital.

The son of Carl and Goldie Barbee Davis, he was born October 20, 1937 in the Farmington area and moved to the Keosauqua area at the age of four. He attended school in the Van Buren area graduating from high school in Keosauqua in the year of 1956.

Sgt. Davis was retired from the U.S. Army and worked on construction.

He was married to Waltraud Lamb in Germany in 1959, she survives. Other survivors include is parents of Milton; two daughters, Mrs. John Marshall, Jr. of Augusta, California and Mrs. Mike Barrett of Martinez, Georgia; three brothers, Albert Davis of Murray, Iowa, Arthur Davis of Douds and Richard Davis of Hillsboro; three sisters, Donna Brown of Keosauqua, Betty Leafgreen of Fairfield and Charldeane Jakubowski of Davenport. A brother, Charles Andrew, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held March 3 at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Augusta with the Rev. Walter E. Pond officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Elliott Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
