DANIEL D. DONALD

Daniel D. Donald, 67, well known retired Stockport farmer passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon, May 14, 1981, at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 29, 1913 in Van Buren County, the son of Roy and Mary Jane Shelman Donald. On January 28, 1939 at Kirksville, Mo., he married Nola Pope, who survives. Also surviving are two sons Edward of Shobonier, Ill., and Douglas of Stockport RR; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Fitzgerald of Mt. Pleasant and Cindy Donald of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; a brother James Donald of Kahoka, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Kiger of Fairfield, Mrs. Ruth Kromis, and Mrs. Marjorie Bailey, both of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Mr. Donald was a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church, Past Master of Workman Masonic Lodge #634 of Stockport, Past Patron of Stockport Order of Eastern Star #544. He also served on the Van Buren Community School Board for 13 years and was chairman of the Van Buren County Democratic Party for 14 years.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 17, 1981 at the Stockport United Methodist Church with Rev. David R. Kennedy officiating. Interment was in Smith Cemetery with Masonic Service at the grave.

Memorials to the Stockport Masonic Lodge, Stockport United Methodist Church or the Stockport Library, may be left at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham.
