JOHN DEANE WATSON

John Deane Watson was born in Van Buren co. on July 26, 1916 son of the late John and Ethel Watson of Hillsboro, Iowa. He passed away due to heart failure at 5 a.m. on June 13, 1981 at Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls, Minnesota, after being taken there by ambulance at 3 a.m.

He attended school in Hillsboro, Iowa and entered the U.S. Air Force on November 4, 1941 serving as a bomber pilot from Naples, Italy. He was discharged as a First Lieutenant on Nov. 6, 1945.

He was united in marriage to Grace Mulder on May 8, 1943 in Glendale, California. To this union was born Karen, Curtis and Kathleen.

They farmed north of Renville, Minnesoata(err) in partnership with his brother Warren and wife, Dorothy, for 26 years. They were joined by his son, Curtis in 1977.

He was an active member of the Emden Christian Reformed Church and served on the Reville School Board and Renville Credit union for many years.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Grace; three children Robert and Karen Krull of Owatonna; Curtis and Janet Watson of Renville, Michael and Kathy House of Maple Plain; eight grandchildren: Jonathan and David Krull, Madra, Tanya, John and Eric Watson; and Angela and Matthew House.

Also surviving are his brother, Bill of Culver City, California; brother, Warren of Renville, Minnesota; and sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Hawbaker of Hillsboro, Iowa; Lois Whittington of Jasper, Texas; Mrs. Francis (Betty) Simpkins of Melbourne, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
