RICHARD C. WARD

Richard C. Ward, son of Arthyr and Rose Drabek Ward was born February 16, 1947 in Algona, Iowa and departed this life Thursday June 18, 1981. He collapsed at work and was declared dead on arrival at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

He graduated from High School at Britt, Iowa and served in the United States Army in Germany from 1967 until 1969.

On October 4, 1969 he married Doneen Carrico in Britt, where they lived until moving to Stockport in 1975.

He was employed as a truck mechanic at Grainland Ltd., grain elevator at Stockport.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Doneen, two daughters, Jennifer and Daylyn and a son, Philip, all at home, his mother of Britt, five brothers, Charles and Gene of Britt, Roger of State Center, Warren, Forest City and Douglas of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Betty Bistline of Manly, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday June 20, 1981 at 11 a.m. at the Stockport Christian Church, with Rev. Richard DeVore, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Glenn Hummell was the organist. Interment with military rites by Elvin E. Cecil Post, American Legion, Stockport, was in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport. A memorial was established. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
