LAWRENCE H. TRABERT

Lawrence H. Trabert, son of Lewis and Sophia Schmidtlein Trabert, was born October 29, 1894, near Lockridge, and departed this life Monday, April 27, 1981, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 86.

On October 4, 1917, he married Ada Lauer. She remains to cherish his memory. Also surviving are a son, Morris of What Cheer, a daughter, Erma Trabert DeRosear and her husband Harley of Donnellson, two grandsons, Dennis DeRosear of Canton, Ill., and Douglas DeRosear, Donnellson, two great grandchildren, a brother, Fred of Mt. Pleasant, other relatives and friends.

A brother, Frank and a sister, Mayme Lynn Peterson preceded him in death.

The Traberts farmed in the Primrose and Douds communities before retiring to Bonaparte.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church, an avid out-doorsman, and will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 29, 1981, at 1 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. John Sattler of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was in Primrose Cemetery in Lee County. A memorial was established for the Bonaparte Public Library.
