BENJAMIN SNEAD

Benjamin Snead, 87, of 2019 Ave. D, Ft. Madison, died at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital at Keosauqua.

He was born Oct. 1, 1893, in Pearson County, Mo., to James O. and Elizabeth Hamblin Snead. He was married Oct. 22, 1913 at Denver, Mo. His wife Alta died Oct. 17, 1980.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Pentecostal Assembly of God Church, Ft. Madison.

Surviving are two sons, J.W. of Eldon, Mo. and W.C. of Keosauqua, a daughter, Mrs. James Odetta) Robbins, West Point, seven grandchildren including James O. Snead of Farmington; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Alan G. Hurst officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Shrine of Peace Chapel, Ft. Madison, was in charge of arrangements.
