KEITH STRAIT

Keith Parsons Strait, son of Victor and Belle Parsons Strait, was born August 21, 1915 near Douds, and departed this life July 25, 1981, at Tucson, Arizona, where he had lived for a number of years.

He spent his early life in Van Buren County, graduated from Keosauqua High School, and lived in Cedar Rapids prior to moving to Arizona.

He married Esther Cupp of Fairfield who remains to cherish his memory along with their four daughters, Carolyn McAngus, Glendale, Arizona, Kathleen Silvers, Medford, Oregon, Nadine Enoch, Los Angeles, Calif., and Nancy Hagerman, Lakeside, Calf., thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Merne of Fairfield, and Donald and Warren, both of Cedar Rapids.

He was a retired railroader and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Graveside services were held Thursday, August 6, 1981, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds, with Phillip Young of Fairfield officiating. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
