VERNON J. SWIFT

The funeral of Vernon J. Swift, 64, of Keokuk, who died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1981 in Keokuk, Area Hospital, was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the DeJong Funeral Home, Keokuk. The Rev. Marlin J. Ackerson officiated. Burial with military rites was in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.

He was born Sept. 2, 1917, at Farmington, the son of George V. and Mahala Hols Swift. he married Alice Steenberg in 1937. He had been employed by the Hubinger Company for 34 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Grainmillers Union, Local 48, and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; sons Larry of Overland Park, Kans. and Lonnie of Keokuk; daughters Georgia Kay Adams of Milford, Del. and Sandra Reinig of Keokuk, 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Lester (Iris) Burch of Keokuk.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
