Edgar J. Bonnett dies

RICHLAND - Edgar J. Bonnett, 98, died early today at the long term care center in Washington where he had been a patient since May.

Funeral services are pending at Gould funeral Home in Richland.

Bonnett was born July 12, 1882 in van Buren County, the son of Israll MacDonald and Samantha June Anderson Bonnett. He married Mae Turnbull Feb. 9, 1910.

Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie McCracken, Lurana Reed, both of Fairfield; one son, Merwyn of Oskaloosa; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. His wife and two sons preceded him in death.

Bonnett was a farmer for many years in the Pleasant Plain, Richland and Batavia areas and was a member of Woolson Friends Church. He had lived for two years with the McCrackens before entering the long term care center.
