HARVEY SMITH

Harvey Smith, 74, of Farmington, died Sunday, December 13, at 2:15 a.m. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

The son of Louis and Matilda Parker Smith, he was born March 11, 1907 at Moravia, Iowa.

He married Myrtle Bice on February 28, 1927 at Mt. Pleasant and she survives.

A resident of Farmington for 41 years, he was a carpenter.

In addition to his widow, he is also survived by two sons, Howard of Farmington and Herman of Argyle; and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Martha) Counts of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Bernice) Carver of Mt. Pleasant; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, one grandson, four brothers and one sister.

The funeral was held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. The Rev. Jim Rozendaal officiated. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery, Farmington. The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
