HERBERT SCHLEIF

Herbert Schleif, 66, of Donnellson, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1981, at 11:55 p.m. University Hospital, Iowa City.

He was the son of Emil and Mary Schermeier Schleif and was born Aub. 4, 1915 at Lawrence, Neb.

He never married. A retired farmer, he moved to Donnellson in 1974 from the Denmark area.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Schleif of Fort Madison; six brothers, Harold of Donnellson, Elmer of Brookfield, Wisc., Arthur of Nevada, Mo., Edwin, Martin and Raymond, all of Burlington; and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Whalen of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The funeral was held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Hofbauer Funeral Home at Donnellson. Pastor was in the Denmark cemetery.
