EARL WOLLAM

Earl Wollam, 73, of Mt. Union, Iowa, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Burlington Medical Center.

He was born March 29, 1906, at Clark County, Mo. to Edward and Daisey Dean Wollam. He married Vera Knox, Oct. 10, 1935, at Mt. Union.

Mr. Wollam formerly worked at Burlington Northern Railroad Shops, West Burlington, and Mt. Union Cooperative. He was a member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church, past master of New London Masonic Lodge 28, AF&AM, past patron of Order of Eastern Star 440. He also had served on Old Threshers and Settlers Board, of Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors: his wife, of the home; and two daughters, Mrs. Norma Helphrey, Mt. Union and Mrs. Sharon Helmerson, New London; one son, Robert (Bud) Wollam, West Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Vera Shannon, Bonaparte, Mrs. Edna Muir, Keosauqua, Mrs. Irene Brasel, Kewanee, Ill., Mrs. Millie Verdigan, Revere, Mass., one brother, Don, Reno, Nev.; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held Monday July 6 at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Merrill officiating. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. A memorial has been established to Dr. B.S. Ajaikumar Cancer Therapy Program.
