CHARLES L. PARRISH

Charles L. Parrish, son of Ivan and Ola Beckert Parrish, was born September 8, 1927, at Knox City, Missouri and departed this life Tuesday, December 15, 1981 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 54.

He had operated garages in Luray, Missouri, and Mt. Sterling and when he became ill in February, 1981, was employed by the Regional Planning Commission in Monroe City, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II and was stationed on the Island of Guam.

Remaining to cherish his memory are two sons, Jerry of Mt. Sterling, and Larry, Tusin, California, five grandchildren, his parents of Mt. Sterling, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 19, 1981, at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Bill Bensheimer officiating. Pallbearers were Bill and Tim Blair, Bob Heald, Tom McDavid, Ted Daugherty, and Randy Cochran. Interment was in Harness Cemetery at Mt. Sterling.
