HENRY LEYDEN
Henry A. "Hank" Leyden, 54, Birmingham Route 1, died suddenly Dec. 7 at his farm home five miles southwest of Birmingham.
He was born January 3, 1917 in Eddyville to John and Betsy M. Leyden. He was a welder on the Michigan-Wisconsin pipeline for more than 15 years before becoming a farmer. He lived most of his life in the Birmingham and Fairfield communities and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors: a son James L. Leyden of Fairfield, daughters Thelma L. Carter of Ollie and Carol M. Davis of Birmingham; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, brothers, Jack of Coalville, Utah, LeRoy, don, and Bill of Mt. Pleasant, and Edward of Birmingham; sisters, Anna Mae Jamesby of Des Moines, Janet Minarfich of Hortonville, Wisc., Patty Kelley and Dorothy Garmoe of Mt. Pleasant and Betty Rae Harper of Davenport.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 1981 at Behner Funeral Home, the Rev. Kenneth Carr officiating. Burial: Maple Hill Cemetry.
Memorial: Heart Fund.
