WILLIAM A. LEWIS

William A. Lewis, son of Eli and Ella Cole Lewis, was born September 10, 1906 in Van Buren County and departed this life Monday, June 8, 1981 at the Adair County Nursing Home, Kirksville, Missouri.

He married Edith Robbins in 1934 at Ottumwa, Iowa. Mrs. Lewis preceded him in death in 1975. Two sons, Donald Dean and Bernard and two brothers also preceded him.

Remaining to cherish his memory are three daughters, Billie Hollowell, Dixon, Iowa, Sharon Elliott of Bonaparte, Gerry Roller, Springfield, Mo., one son Larry Lewis of Bonaparte, six grandchildren, Theresa Hendrickson, Bill Thoman, Mike Hollowell, Christina and Brenda Elliott, Tammy Roller; four great grandchildren; one sister Florence Scardino of California, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, 1981 at 2:00 p.m. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Iowa with Pastor Olen Adams officiating. Pallbearers were J.B. Ralston, Charles Salyers, Aaron Burr, Carroll Ayers, Time Lowes, and Clark Weaver. Interment was in the Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Southeast Iowa Kidney Foundation.
