MARY GIFFITHS JONES

Mary Griffiths Jones, 74, of 506 Finley died at 8:10 p.m. February 12, 1981 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

She was born September 5, 1906 to James David and Sarah Heath Griffiths near Keosauqua, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, and one brother, Fern Griffiths.

She leaves one son, Paul D. Hervey of Ottumwa, two brothers, Roy Griffiths of Hanover, Ill. and Gene Griffiths of State Center, Iowa, one sister, Ruth Creath of Cantril, Iowa, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In 1950 she married Charles T. Jones. He died in 1978. With this union, she leaves several step children and step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She joined the Center Chapel Church as a young woman.

Services were held on Monday, Feb. 16 at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Safford of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Center Chapel Cemetery, southeast of Keosauqua.
