GARNET I. GRIFFITHS

Services were held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Clemons United Church of Christ for Garnet I. (Mrs. Gene) Griffiths, 76, rural State Center, who died Monday afternoon at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital. Arrangements were in charge by Pursel-Davis Funeral Home.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Harry Lake and the Rev. Dan Grauberger with burial at Clemons Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Griffiths was born on March 8, 1908, at Mt. Sterling, the daughter of Joel G. and Frankie Huston Hervey. She was educated in Keosauqua and was graduated from high school there in 1923.

Mrs. Griffiths is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mary Jean (Mrs. Don) Sparks, New Providence; two sons, Joe G. Griffiths, Clemons, and James Richard Griffiths, Ames; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Nola Robbins, Farmington, and Mrs. Leona Hassler, Grants Pass, Ore., and a brother, Reo Hervey, Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

She was a member of Clemons United Methodist Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship Progress Club and the West Marshall Senior Citizen.
