JUNE FORBES

June Forbes, 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, October 28th at the Burlington Medical Center, Burlington, Iowa.

She was born June 11, 1899 South of Farmington, the daughter of Hugh and Lou Workman Topping. She was married to Robert H. Johnston who preceded her in death on August 7, 1956.

On December 21, 1958 she was married to Porter L. Forbes of Fairfield, Iowa. He survives as well as a son, Kris Johnston of Columbus Junction, Iowa, three grandchildren, a step-son, Robert Forbes of Forence, South Carolina and a step-daughter, Mrs. Darrel Donnolly of Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. Forbes was a former resident of Birmingham, was a member of the Birmingham Presbyterian Church and the A.A.R.P. Club of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Mrs. Forbes were held on Friday, October 30, 1981 at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with Rev. Charles E. Comfort of Mt. Pleasant officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

A memorial to the Birmingham Presbyterian Church has been established and may be left at the Burch Funeral Home.
