BETTY THORNTON

Mrs. Betty Thornton, 51, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, October 4, at her home, after a long illness.

She was born September 18, 1930, at Fairfield to Willis and Ruby Watson Davis. She married Claude Thornton on December 24, 1946.

Mrs. Thornton was a member of Big Cedar Christian Church.

Surviving: three sons, Albert Hillsboro; and Jack and Steven, both of Salem; three daughters, Christine Jayne, Mt. Pleasant; and Rhonda and Claudia both at home; her mother Ruby Davis, Hillsboro; and two sisters, Erma Brombaugh, Bonaparte and Norma Manley, Fairfield.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Charles Courtney. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
