B. Roberts rites

Blanche M. Roberts, 89, 507 N. Court St., died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. James Battey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Roberts was born Feb. 23, 1898 in Mediapolis, the daughter of Brownlow and Amelia Schroeder Morris. While young, she moved with her family to Van Buren County near Stockport. On June 6, 1933, she married Bert C. Roberts at Burlington. He died Sept. 22, 1967. They lived in Burlington for some time before moving to the Fairfield area and farming near Beckwith. They moved to Fairfield in the early 1950s. For many years she was employed by the Hannah Motor Company and in later years by the Fairfield Ledger.

Surviving are two sister, Myrtle Morris and Phyllis McCurdy, both of Fairfield, nieces and nephews. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
