RICHARD M. CARR

Richard (Dick) M. Carr, 56, of Sarasota, Florida, a former Fort Madison resident, died Thursday, August 13, 1981 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

He was born at Farmington and was employed by the former Fort Madison Gas Company in 1946 and was promoted to manager of he North Central Public Service Company in Algona. He moved to Sarasota in 1957, where he was vice president and general manager of Southern Gas Co. He was a member of the Santa Fe Methodist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by four sons, Ronald L. Carr and Bill Carr, both of Sarasota, and Jeff Crago and David Crago, also both of Sarasota; three daughters, Sandra M. Froehlich, Casey Carr and Jane Plyler, all of Sarasota; his mother, Lucretia Carr of Panama City, Florida; three sisters, Norma Belt of Panama City, Joanne Jones of Redlands, Calif., and Beverly Patton, Ramona, Calif., and three grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Toale Brothers Colonial Chapel, Sarasota. Burial was in Tatum Ridge cemetery, Sarasota. A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
