WENDELL BATTEN

Wendell P. (Ted) Batten, 74, of 2036 Vine St., Davenport died Sept. 22 at his home after an extended illness.

Services were held on Thursday, Sept. at Weerts/Hill & Fredericks Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church, Davenport of which he was a member.

He had been employed in the grocery business, and later at J.I. Case Co., Bettendorf, and by Davenport Public Schools. He retired in 1973.

Mr. Batten married Doris E. Medaris in 1933 in Keokuk, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Cadwell, Del Mar, Calif.; sons, Paul and Jim, both of Davenport, and George, DeWitt, Ia.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Ottis, Davenport, and Harry, Croton, Iowa.
