MARIE ZEITLER

A. Marie Zeitler, daughter of Andrew and Margaret Foster Casady, was born February 24, 1897 in Milton and died the morning of Wednesday, January 24, 1990 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Cleone and Hollis Wells southwest of Douds at the age of 92.

She lived her life in the Milton-Douds area.

Marie married J. Edwin Zeitler June 28, 1914 at her parent's home north of Milton. He died in 1961.

She was a Baptist, attended Lebanon United Methodist Church, and was a member of Douds Temple No. 104, Pythian Sisters, Troy Rebekah Lodge No. 510 and was a charter member of the Valley Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Cleone Wells and her husband, Hollis, two sons, Harold Zeitler and James Zeitler and his wife, Norma, all of Douds, nine grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a brother, Harold Casady, Des Moines, other relatives and friends.

A sister, nine brothers, a great grandson, Randy Wells and a daughter-in-law, Irma Zeitler preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 27, 1990 at 11 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, Douds, with Rev. Stephen Metcalf-Conte officiating. Rebekah rites followed the service at the church. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton. Memorials were established for Christ United Methodist Church of Douds or Lebanon United Methodist Church. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
