Garland W. Snuffer, 76, of rural Bonaparte died at 3:09 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Born Dec. 4, 1932, in Tam's Mountain, W. Va., he was the son of Garland R. and Ruby Huffman Snuffer. On March 16, 1957, he married Beverly I. Weatherill in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Snuffer worked as a production manager for Worldwide Church of God in their radio ministry for 27 years, retiring in 1994. He graduated from Montandon, Pa., High School. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Church of God.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Garland Mark Snuffer of California and Eric Alan Snuffer of Tyler, Texas; one daughter, Linda Rex of Farmington; three grandchildren; two brothers, Dallis Snuffer of Nevada and Luther Boop of Mifflinburg, Pa.; and one sister, Norma Jean Sauers of Mifflinburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will receive friends.

The funeral for Mr. Snuffer will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home with family members officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery in Bonaparte.
