LA RUE A. WILSON

LaRue Austin Wilson, son of George Judson and Eunice Robinson Wilson, was born February 26, 1901 near Lebanon and died early Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua at the age of 88.

He was a life long resident of Van Buren County, and farmed south of Lebanon until retiring to Cantril in 1951.

He was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church, served a number of years as Mayor of Cantril, had been a director of State Savings Bank, Cantril, was a Mason, an Eastern Star, and a member of Cantril Lions Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Bernita Epperly and her husband, Walter of Milton and Kethleen Geith and her husband, Richard Geith of Ottumwa, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He married Frieda Kaiser May 5, 1925. She died in 1967. He married Velma Younker in 1970. She died in 1983. A sister, Beryl Beeler also preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, 1989 at 11 A.M. in the Cantril United Methodist Church with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Memorials were established for his church and Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.
