John Willcoxson

John Sylvester Willcoxson, 77, route 6, Bloomfield, died at noon Jan. 28, 1993, at his home.

He was born March 36, 1915, in Madrid to Caleb Etheridge and Aimee Vivian Rogers Willcoxson. He married Violet A. Gordy on July 15, 1934, in Memphis, Mo.

He was the founder of Willcoxson Transport Inc. in Bloomfield, retiring in 1968. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Reed-Whisler Post 78 of American Legion and Bloomfield Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Delpha Lee Hopkins of Bloomfield; two sons, Richard Dean of Temecula, Calif., and Daniel Lynn of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Everett; and a sister, Delpha Helen in infancy.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 31, 1993 at the Priester Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Don Macy officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.
