Sam A. White

MILTON - Sam A. White, 80, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 1986 at Scotland County Memorial Nursing Home in Memphis, Mo.

He was born Sept. 21, 1906, in Scotland County, Mo., to John Henry and Minnie Alice Garmon White. He married Ella May Kinney July 30, 1927. He was employed at Le High Rock Quarry in Kankakee, Ill., before moving to Milton where he was employed by Denniston and Partridge Lumber Company until his retirement. He was a member of Milton Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Roy Lee of Bourbonnais, Ill., Donald Eugene of Kankakee, Ill. and a daughter, Betty Hartwig of Lodi, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank of Memphis, Mo.; and a sister, Verna Wilson of Milton.

The service was held Friday, Jan. 2, 1987 at the Milton Christian Church, the Rev. Ed Pool officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Memorials have been established to his church.
