HELEN E. MOORE

Helen E. Moore, 84, Ames, Iowa, died of cancer Friday, July 10, 1992 at Grand Avenue Care Center. Graveside services and burial was held Monday, July 13, 1992 at 10:30 a.m. in Ames Municipal Cemetery, with the Rev. A. David Digby officiating.

Helen Black was born in Milton to Charles and May [Fisher] Black. A 1926 graduate of Keosauqua High School, she taught in a country school for one year. On June 11, 1927 she married Craig R. Moore in Bloomfield and moved to Ames. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Gary Moore of Ames; a daughter, Norma Schupp of Delaware, Ohio; a sister, Florence Carlson of Memphis, Mo.; a brother, Robert Black of Sierra Vista, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, and a niece, Neva E. Moore Kisling of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 13, 1964 and by a sister and two brothers.

Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Helen Moore was last of our older generation in the Moore family of the Mt. Zion area, the Roe and Lida Moore family.
