Helen Iowa Lough McGhee

Helen Iowa Lough McGhee was born February 21, 903, to Thomas and Ida Griner Lough in Davis County, Iowa, where she resided most of her life. She died suddenly at the Davis County Hospital January 27, 1974, at the age of 70 years, 11 months and six days.

She was correspondent for the Bloomfield Newspapers most of the past 50 years.

She was a member and faithful worker of the Dunnville Baptist Church, Davis County, Iowa. she was also a member of the Daniel Boone and Welcome Neighbor Clubs.

She was married to Otis LaVerne McGhee October 25, 1922, in Davis County, Iowa, by Rev. Corrin, pastor of the Bloomfield Christian Church. They were married in his home.

She was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers, Jenkins, John, Hulbert and one infant brother and four sisters, Etta Bales, Tilartha Evans, Cora Wimp and Lee Ola Jackson.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, one sister, Mary McGrew of Ottumwa, Iowa, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; also a host of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 29, 1974, at the Wagler Funeral Home, Bloomfield, Iowa, conducted by the Rev. Carrol Johnson. Interment was was in the IOOF Cemetery, Bloomfield, Iowa.
