Lois Elizabeth Mincks

Lois Elizabeth Mincks, the daughter of Dr. Lorin B. Sebrell and Ruth Ellen Tullis, was born in Akron, Ohio, June 23, 1924. She died at the Davis County Hospital June 12, 1980. Lois was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Music.

On May 19, 1945, she was united in marriage to James R. Mincks at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They were parents of four children: Ellen, now deceased; Bryan Mincks, now of Kentwood, Michigan; Deborah, now Mrs. Marc Lindeen of Swedesburh, Iowa; and Patrica, now Mrs. Doug Berryman of Bloomfield, Iowa. Jim and Lois have been residents of Bloomfield for 22 years.

Lois was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, and was an excellent and dependable church organizer for many years. This month she was awarded the annual Life Membership Pin by the Bloomfield United Methodist Women in recognition and appreciation for her service to the church. She was a member of the T.T.T. Society, the Friday Club, the American Guild of Organists, and The Fellowship of United Methodist Musicians.

Lois was preceded in death by her mother and a daughter, Ellen. Those to mourn her death are her husband, James, son Bryan, daughters, Deborah and Patricia, four grandchildren, her father and step-mother, Dr. and Mrs. Lorin Sebrell of Dover, Delaware, a sister, Mrs. Rhoda Turnblacer of Hudson, Ohio, and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15, 1980, at the United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Eldon Haworth and Rev. Galen Peckham. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Bloomfield, Iowa. Memorials have been established to music programs of Bloomfield United Methodist Church and Davis County Fine Arts Council.
