Virgie A. McQuoid

Virgie Alice McQuoid, the daughter of Jasper A. and Lillie McGreevy McQuoid, was born March 7, 1908 in the Lebanon community northeast of Milton and died Monday, July 29, 1985 at Scotland County Nursing Home in Memphis, Mo. at the age of 77.

Virgie graduated from Milton High School and Gem City Business College in Quincy, Ill., and was employed many years in the United States Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. Upon retirement she moved to Ottumwa and resided there until entering the nursing home 10 months ago.

Surviving are a brother, Montie McQuoid of Lebanon, now residing in Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua, three nieces, Betty Dietzman, Farmington, Marilynn Gillman, Alexandria, Va. and Beverly Williams, Milton, two nephews, Marvin McQuoid, Milton and David McQuoid, Cantril, other relatives and friends. Her parents, a sister, Jennie and a brother, Howard, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 1 at 11 a.m. in the Lebanon United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery.

A memorial was established for the Lebanon Cemetery.

Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
