Elmer Locke

OTTUMWA - Elmer Bernard Locke, 79, of 1808 W. Second St. died March 30, 1990, at Good Samaritan.

he was born Aug. 7, 1910, in Christianberg to John f. and Agusta Bergason Locke. He married Maxine V. Mace on April 16, 1938, in Ottumwa; she died in 1990.

He was a foreman for the State Highway Commission for 47 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Davis Street Christian Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Gooden of Ottumwa; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; and a sister, Mabel Berry of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, the Rev. William Flewelling of Davis Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will be Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visiation(err) will begin afer 9 a.m. today. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.

A memorial has been established to Good Samaritan Center.
