Funeral services will be Thursday for Alta May Loar, 91, who died Monday morning at the Davis County Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. McClellan officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Loar was born in Van Buren County, Aug. 8, 1884, the daughter of J. Clem and Martha Likes Steele. She had been a resident of Davis County most of her life and was a member of the Baptist Church, the Troy Rebekah Lodge and the Troy Quilters Club.
She was a former school teacher. On Jan. 24, 1908 she was married to Warren Loar in Van Buren County. He preceded in death.
Surviving are a son, Alpha of Carson City, Nev.; two daughters, Alene Barker of Bloomfield and Anna Hopkins of Pulaski; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
