Cora L. Koch

Cora L. Koch, daughter of Edd and Addie Bair Kerkove, was born March 7, 1906 near What Cheer, Iowa and died the night of Monday, November 24, 1986 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua at the age of 80.

She graduated from Milton High School and attended Parsons College, Fairfield. She taught in rural schools and was a secretary at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital and the Van Buren County ASCS office. She attended the Cantril Christian Church and was an Eastern Star.

She married Edgar P. Koch August 11, 1928 at Fort Madison. They have lived in the Keosauqua, Milton and Cantril communities. Survivors include her husband, Edgar, a sister, Grace C. Hall, Amarillo, Texas, two nephews, Richard hall and Jerry Kerkove, five great nephews, a great niece, other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Ernest and Raymond Kerkove preceded her in death.

A memorial service was held Friday, Nov. 28, 1986 at 10 A.M. in the Cantril Christian Church with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment of the cremated remains was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton. A memorial was established for Sunnyside Cemetery, Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
